To celebrate the end of the school year and to acknowledge all the hard work and fun that we have had together, we will have our prize giving and a shared lunch on Tuesday 13 December.
The prize giving will begin at 11am under the shade sails outside Rooms 17 and 18. At the conclusion of the prize giving assembly we will have the shared lunch. Can you please send along a plate of food to share. If your child has food allergies or different food requirements, please send food along that they can eat and let their teacher know so we can ensure children eat their food. We will require parent help setting up and packing up after the lunch. If you can help, please fill out the form below and return it to your child’s teacher. We will begin setting up at 10.30. Parents and pre schoolers are welcome to stay and enjoy the lunch with your child’s class. Food can be left in your child’s classroom on the Tuesday morning. Thank you for all your support this year. Have a great festive season. Kind regards Junior teachers.

Our beautiful tree is now on display. It looks amazing and we have had some lovely comments from people. We were worried that people might kick balls at it or try to pull off the plastic bottle tops - we decided to make posters to put up around the school. The winning poster will be laminated and put beside our tree. Good luck!
What a fabulous morning we have had at athletics today! It was fantastic to see the sun shining, children trying hard and lots of parents along to support us! This afternoon Mrs Pelham had some certificates and medals that we could make for ourselves. Following an engineers check of all spaces we can confirm that school will be open tomorrow (Tuesday). We appreciate your support.
Dear Whānau
We hope you and your extended family are safe and well. You will see from our communications this morning via our app, website and social media that the Board of Trustees has made the decision to close the school today in consultation with the Ministry of Education. Our decision to close today was not made lightly and was based on the welfare and safety of our tamariki, staff and school community. With the ongoing tsunami threat and continuing aftershocks the Board and leadership team will spend today Monday 14 November checking the site and preparing for a return to school tomorrow. We acknowledge the closure may cause difficulities for our whanau but we hope you understand how important it is that we consider all possible factors when making the decision of closure. Keep safe, St Albans School Board of Trustees Thank you to all the wonderful people who have been collecting bottle tops for us. Yesterday it was finally time to start our collaborative art work. Last week a group of children painted the big piece of wood with black paint. Today Sharon drew the big tree for us. Then groups of children came and glued on the bottle tops using a special carpet glue. We still need to spray paint some bottle tops black to finish our tree. We think it looks amazing so far. |
